What to expect

An alpaca visit is best enjoyed slowly. We start by sharing simple rules that keep alpacas comfortable: calm voices, steady movement, and respect for their space. From there, the guide leads the group through meeting points around the paddock so you can observe the herd, take photos, and ask questions.

Many visitors are surprised by how expressive alpacas are. You will see ear positions, gentle humming, and curious sniffs that signal comfort. If an alpaca decides they prefer distance, that is normal. Our goal is a positive experience for the animals, which makes the visit better for everyone.

What’s included

A guided introduction, structured meeting points, and time for photos and questions. Some options include extra fleece learning. We explain what you can feed, how to approach, and where to stand so alpacas can choose to engage comfortably.

What to wear

Comfortable shoes suitable for outdoor ground and weather layers. Bring a light rain jacket when needed. If you prefer, pack a small towel for shoes after the visit in wetter months.

Gentle interaction

We never force contact. The best interactions happen when visitors pause and let alpacas approach on their own terms. The guide will show you simple ways to stand and offer your hand for a sniff.

Accessibility

Tell us what would help you enjoy the visit. We can suggest quieter time slots and explain the route. For any specific accommodation requests, contact us in advance so we can plan appropriately.

Getting in touch about arrival

For the most accurate arrival guidance, email us after you have chosen a date. We will confirm your visit and provide clear instructions for what to do on arrival, including where to check in and how to prepare for the outdoor route.

Common questions

These answers cover the questions we hear most often. If you have a specific request, send us a message and we will reply with options. We keep communication clear and practical, including what we can and cannot accommodate on a working farm.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Advance booking helps us keep group sizes small and plan around the herd’s routine. If you have a preferred date, message us early. We confirm availability by email and share practical arrival details.

Can we take photos?

Yes. We include photo pauses during the route. Please keep flash off around animals and follow the guide’s positioning tips so alpacas remain comfortable.

What can alpacas eat?

Only feed what the guide provides. Alpaca diets are carefully managed for health and digestion. Bringing outside treats can be harmful, even when they seem natural.

What if the weather changes?

The farm is outdoors, so dress for conditions. If weather is unsafe, we will discuss rescheduling options by email. In normal light rain, tours can still be comfortable with the right layers.

A gentle reminder

Alpacas are not props. They are sensitive animals that enjoy calm company. Your best moments will come from pausing, smiling, and letting curiosity happen naturally.
